Safety Software Donation

Published January 13, 2015 under Safeguard Profiler

Calgary, AB, June 2014 - ACM Facility Safety™ is pleased to announce a partnership agreement focused on providing education and innovation through the donation of 25 SafeGuard Profiler software licenses for the next three years (valued at $200,000/year) to SAIT Polytechnic’s Instrumentation program. In addition to the licenses, ACM will provide training onsite or in-house along with technical support for SAIT’s instructors and IT personnel.

SAIT Instrumentation Engineering Technology (IET) instructors have spotted an opportunity, driven by industry, to be leaders in safety awareness. Instructors plan to achieve this through the integration of SafeGuard Profiler within the INST 345 module. The INST345 program introduces IET students to advanced technologies they will experience in the field. The module will consist of working in teams to identify and then reduce risk, to a tolerable level in a Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA). Design of a Safety Instrumented Function (SIF), seen widely across industries, will occur in which the students will learn stringent requirements designed to keep themselves and assets safe. Throughout each phase of this project, students will utilize SafeGuard Profiler as their tool to understand and apply these industry proven concepts.

SafeGuard Profiler is a user-friendly risk analysis software solution that offers comprehensive safety system analysis and design. Developed by ACM Facility Safety™ over several years and deployed successfully to both onshore and offshore projects, SafeGuard Profiler is truly unique in its ability to integrate all aspects of the SIL Lifecycle - from importing Risk Assessment (i.e. HAZOP) data to enabling facility operators to manage the integrity of safety and critical control systems.
